Editor: Northern Cochise Community Hospital would like to thank all those who attended and helped us put together a fun and informative Health and Wellness Fair in April.

Thirty-eight vendors, with your health on their minds, arrived at NCCH on April 11 from all over Southern Arizona. From behavioral health and substance misuse to healthy living and emergency services, they set up displays and gave out information and goodies to help educate all who visited.

NCCH clinical departments gave out information on their services, and delivered some of those services, such as blood tests, blood pressure checks and grip strength tests — all free — as well as showing off the ultrasound machine.

Departments participating were: Emergency, Cardiopulmonary, Imaging, Lab, Rural Health Clinics, Rehab, Medical Floor (hospital), and Specialty Clinics and Endoscopy — which had the 20-foot tall inflatable colon outside to walk through. The NCCH Auxiliary and the Rose C. Allan Senior Learning Center also participated.

Many thanks to the City of Willcox and Chilly Teeters for the tables and Willcox Unified School District and Gus Morales and Tom Currin for the chairs, without which we could not have held the event.

More than 80 people visited the event, and more than 125 delicious meals were served, including employees. Also, congratulations to Patti Ackerson Rodriguez who won the NCCH gift bag.

Hope to see you all next year.
