WILLCOX — The improved McDonald’s restaurant and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will soon premiere for the public eye.
On June 15, the mobile clinic will be in the Willcox McDonald’s parking lot as locals can attend the restaurant’s ribbon-cutting and open house. The open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant’s open house will include prizes, live music and free entertainment.
The new clinic services are for children under the age of 21, and while at the grand opening, the public may learn more about the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Brianna Hiller, director of dental services of the Chiricahua Community Health Center, told the Range News that the mobile unit will be traveling across Cochise County over the upcoming year.
“This brand-new one will be a tremendous upgrade for the residents of Cochise County,” Hiller said. “Thirty percent of kindergartners in Cochise County currently have dental disease. We know children miss school because of dental pain, and we want to help lower those numbers.”
Hiller told the Range News that during the summer, the clinic will be in Benson, Bisbee and Douglas. When school starts again, the clinic will be visiting schools in Cochise County to clean children’s teeth after parental permission slips have been signed.
The mobile clinic has three dental chairs and entirely brand-new equipment, including a panoramic X-ray machine.
