WILLCOX — After several complaints, a group of volunteers pitched in to clean up around a local residence.
On Flagstaff Road, a house on two lots had 10 volunteers come together to help neighbors clean the area. The work started early Saturday morning before the heat set in.
“So in conjunction with them getting the ball rolling on a personal level . . . the church said it would come and give the residence one free-grace cleanup. We’ll clean up all the junk we can get and get rid of as much junk as possible, but it will be up to them to keep it clean,” said Paul Sheats, Willcox city councilman and pastor of Extended Hands Ministry. “We took five loads of trash (using the Willcox trailer) and one full dump truck of scrap metal that we had to remove from this property.”
The dump fees were paid for by Extended Hands Ministries.
