WILLCOX — The Spring Tractor Pull has a new location at Quail Park, and orchestrators are hopeful for a bigger event and turnout.
This will be year 16 for the Arizona Truck and Tractor Pull nonprofit, and this is the first time the nonprofit will be working with the City of Willcox. The tractor pull event will take place June 8.
Co-coordinators Carol Dunagan and Rod Crawford told the Range News that they are excited to be working with the city and have scheduled a two-year contract for the use of the tractor-pull area of Quail Park.
“We’re trying to promote more motor sports activities in the City of Willcox,” Crawford said. “We’re trying to highlight the activities that we have.”
The Arizona Truck and Tractor Pull nonprofit has already set up the cement barricade for Saturday’s pull, and will plow up the land and mow the weeds for the event shortly. At this point, there will be no provided seating and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
Dunagan said that the nonprofit has always worked closely with the Northwest Outriders 4-H Club out of Marana.
“The city is working with us tremendously,” Dunagan said. “All of the money the event makes that is left over from paying our pullers will be donated to Northern Cochise Community Hospital Foundation and our scholarship funds.”
The entrance fee to the event will be $10 for an adult and $7 for children under the age of 17.
