2013 Rendezvous of Gunfighters in Tombstone this weekend

The Tombstone Wild Bunch presents the 32nd Annual Rendezvous of Gunfighters Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Tombstone. Gunfight re-enactment groups will perform in shows daily in the world famous O.K. Corral. For ticket information, contact O.K. Corral, (520) 457-3456.

New this year! On Saturday, Aug. 31 at noon, the Wild Bunch will host Tombstone's first Steampunk Parade on Allen Street. All individual entries are welcome. Parade registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at 6th and Allen Streets. No entry fee. Contestants will be judged on: character name, back story, costume, gadgets, and showmanship. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes for male and female categories will be awarded Saturday, 5:30 p.m. at the Dragoon Saloon.

On Sunday, Sept. 1 at noon, an 1880s costume parade will wind its way down historic Allen Street. All individual entries are welcome. No entry fee. Parade registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at 6th and Allen Streets. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be awarded Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. for the most authentic appearing costumes in the following categories:Gunfighter, Cowboy, Male Townsperson, Female Townsperson, Saloon Woman, Madam, Children (under 16). Net proceeds from this event will be donated to charitable organizations in Tombstone. For more information, please visit www. tombstonewildbunch.com.
