Mary G. (Peggy) Monzingo, of Benson, born Oct. 30, 1922 to Marjorie Streeter Harvey and Lynn Arthur Gratiot in St. Louis, Mo., died Jan. 19, 1912.
Attended Mary Institute in St. Louis, The Masters School, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. and one-and-a-half years at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
She was a lifelong rancher and advocate of the cattle industry (a true Cowbelle)
Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, George Edward Monzingo, stepson John L. Monzingo, daughter-in-law Katherine Monzingo, and grandson John Lee Monzingo.
She is survived by son Ed Alan (Janie) Monzingo of the home Ranch, grandchildren Benton (Audrey), Traywick, great-granddaughter Austyn, Rachel (Robert) Stretch, great-granddaughters Abigail Burkhead, Bailey, Mattie Sue and Mylea Stretch of Benson; Late stepson John L.'s children: Elizabeth Monzingo, great grandsons Anthony and Grant of Austin, Colo.; Charles E. (Michelle) Monzingo, great grandchildren Pamela, Desiree, Jessica and Kyle of Washington state; William (Holly) Monzingo, great-grandchildren Kasmira, Clementine, Calista and Keaghan of Edgewood, NM; Mandy Monzingo (David) great grandchildren Shae, Aspen, Curin, Damon,Justice and Jadyn of Roswell, N.M. Also surviving are stepson George E. Monzingo, Jr. of St. David, Ariz. and granddaughters Janice (Al) Smith of Cochise, Ariz., great-grandchildren Roy, Colby and Jennifer; Kathy Moreno, great-grandson Edward; and Jomel (Andre) Jansson' great grandsons Jeremy and Phillip of St. David; eight great-great-grandchildren and many Gratiot and Monzingo nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by her brother John Peter (Daphne) Gratiot of Woodstock, Vt.; her estranged daughter Mary Lynne Harmon (Gary) Damron and her children Stephen and Kelly of Roswell, N.M.
