DPS requests public's help in identifying the driver and the victim in a fatal collision

On Sunday September 5, 2010, a hit-and-run collision occurred on southbound Interstate 19 at kilometer 98 at about 9:40 p.m. A male juvenile between the ages of 13 to 15 years old, was running across the interstate when he was struck by a vehicle. Inside the vehicle were two subjects, the driver and a passenger. The female driver of the vehicle initially stopped at the scene then left.

DPS is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the young man killed in the collision. DPS is also requesting help with identification of the vehicle and driver which left the scene. The following is a description of the victim and a description of the vehicle and driver:

Victim: Male juvenile between the ages of 13 to 15 years old with brown hair. He was wearing black shorts, a blue shirt, white socks and Nike shoes. He had no identification on him.

Vehicle: Dark brown Jeep Cherokee or Liberty


Driver: Female, around 30 years old, 5'5" to 5"9" tall, with dark hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was wearing light-colored shorts and a turquoise colored shirt.
