Following a scrimmage with Bisbee Friday night, WHS Football Head Coach Jim Hughes said, "We missed a lot of tackles, we missed some blocks - we need to work on that. We need to get the kinks out, but we made several touchdowns - the kids came out to play and we were pleased with their efforts."
Friday night at 7 p.m., the Cowboys will play Lordsburg at home. Willcox lost to the Mavericks in their first game last year. "Lordsburg put a blemish on our record right away last year, but we are three weeks ahead of where we were at this time last year. The kids know the offense. We had people out of position last year," he said. "There are not as many questions going into the game this year," Hughes said.
