History week

Published: Wednesday, August 25, 2010 12:24 PM CDT
The Sulphur Springs Valley Historical Society sends a big "thank you" to all those who made our second Vacation History Week a big success.

Thanks to our partnership with the WASA program, Sally White, and the WASA volunteers for their help and support. Thank you to our program presenters: Tony Cohorn, Keith Klump, Kathy Klump, Wally Hozjan, and her assistant, Angela Butterly. We are grateful for the donations of cookies and refreshments from Vonnie Hedges, Geri Moller, Doris Martin, Kathy Smith (Willcox Chamber of Commerce), Kathy Klump, and Marylyn Pense.

We very much appreciate the donation of the beautiful Certificates of Accomplishment for the children provided by Peggy Judd and Linda Moser of Willcox Real Estate. Special thanks to Tony and Phyllis Cohorn for their assistance each day of History Week.

A live music program with square dancing was enjoyed by the children and their parents on the last day thanks to Shelley Michaels, Matti Michaels, Macey Michaels and Vonnie Hedges. Thank you to Safeway for helping with the delicious sheet cake.

Most of all, we would like to thank the children who attended and to those who have joined as members of our Junior Historical Society. Plans for activities during the year for our Junior members are in the works. We hope to see everyone next summer for another fun-filled week.
