Holes in Heaven
The "Wesley Moore and Friends 'Holes in Heaven' Golf Tournament" held on July 31, 2010 was a HUGE success. The turnout of players was incredible, the weather cooperated, and the food was delicious. Monies raised, after expenses, totaled $2,133 and will be donated to the Willcox High School Golf Team. The intent of these funds is to purchase new golf bags each year for the Seniors to keep as their own personal bag. Remaining funds would then be used to purchase new shirts if needed, and/or to help with expenses when they go to state.
We would like to acknowledge the following people for their donations: Big Tex Bar-b-q for supplying the steaks and for cooking them for us, Troy and Kelly Garey, Moss Adams LLP, Jason and Carrie Jones, Bonita Bean Co., Twin Lakes Golf Course and Pauline Machiche for the brownies. Yummy! Additional thank you goes out to Shari Bowen for the awesome cupcakes, Gary Bowen for serving lunch and Steve Garcia for his monetary donation.
Because of the positive response we had from everyone, we have decided to try and make this an annual event. Next years' tournament is already scheduled for July 30, 2011. We hope our Memorial Board will not grow, but we would request any of you who have lost loved ones or friends who were golfers, and they did not appear on the board this year, please get a picture to us so we can acknowledge them next year. We hope to see the same awesome support in 2011.
