The Willcox resident who refers to our current President as an un-patriotic individual who calls us names has presented incorrect information to substantiate her point. President Obama NEVER said "I'm not a citizen of America, I'm a citizen of the world." In his speech in Germany the President stated, "I'm a proud US citizen and a fellow citizen of the world". True words considering America is the melting pot of world cultures.

The other names the writer referred to came from various sectors of our free press, NOT the lips of the President. He did state that "police acted stupidly" in ONE particular incident. But he publicly apologized for it and even hosted a friendly beer summit to smooth over his gaffe. It takes a BIG man to admit he made an error and do his best to correct the mistake.

I also am proud of being American. And I'm also proud of our current President. I consider him to be a patriot doing his best to lead our nation out of the multiple crises we are currently experiencing.

I fully realize that my opinion is the minority one in this primarily conservative thinking town. However, the founders of this great nation Constitutionally guaranteed the freedom for everyone, including the minority, to express their opinions. It is crucial, however, that those opinions be based on facts. Because without facts, We the People cannot make intelligent decisions in the voting booth.

" I have to say, it does upset me that many dislike this president because of small things such as the misquoted words, the lies that he was not born in America or the lie that he is a Muslim.

I'm not a Democrat or a Republican. I'm a very conservative independent. I would not vote for Obama for the right reasons...not petty lies. I disagree with the healthcare bill that Obama signed into law. I disagree with his stance on abortion. I do not like that he continues to blame President Bush for problems now that we are almost halfway through his first term. I do have to say that I was surprised by his actions on the war...in a good way.

These are valid reasons. Although I do not agree with most of what this president wants to do with America, and I will oppose him and do what I can to stop something I don't agree with, I will do what liberals and Democrats refused to do with President Bush. President Obama is my president. I am a proud American. I know that President Obama loves this country and is a patriotic American. I hope that we can get him out of office in 2012 but until then, he is my president and I hope and pray that he makes the right choices. "
