Election set for seats on area fire boards

Seats in three area fire districts will be up for a vote in the November election.
There is one seat open on the Bowie Fire District; two seats in the Sunsites-Pearce Fire District; and three seats in the Elfrida Fire District.
The deadline for submitting nomination petitions is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, and packets need to be returned to the Cochise County Elections - Special Districts, P.O. Box 223, Bisbee, Ariz. 85603.
County Election Technician Martha Dolman said the following people have submitted their packets: Debra Juarez in Bowie; Rebel James Jones, Thomas McGaffey, and Lawrence "Larry" Edgett in Sunsites-Pearce; and Andrew Warn and James Fletcher in Elfrida.
The last day to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 4. Early voting begins on Thursday, Oct. 7.
The last day to request an early ballot from the Cochise County Recorder's Office is Friday, Oct. 22; and the last day to vote early in person at the Recorder's Office is Friday, Oct. 29.
