Keep your health in check! Prostate On-site Project will be bringing an affordable prostate cancer screening to men, 40 years or older. One in five men will get prostate cancer during their lifetime. With early detection, survival is nearly 100 percent.

"POP", Prostate On-site Projects is a mobile medical screening unit that travels throughout Arizona offering affordable prostate exams for the early detection of prostate cancer. POP Founder and CEO, Gene Felker says, "Prostate can strike any man. Get tough, get checked, get going!"

Affordable Prostate Cancer Screening (limited space, sign up early!) is available at Cochise College; Sierra Vista Campus, Adm. Parking Lot Sierra Vista, on Tuesday, May 4, from 6 to 11 a.m.; at Bisbee Road Yard, 1229 Herford Rd. Bisbee, Ariz. 85803 on Wednesday, May 5, from 6 to 11 a.m. and at Cochise College Douglas Campus, Aviation Nursing Parking Lot, Douglas, Ariz. on Thursday, May 6, from 6 to11 a.m.

Insurance: We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Net, Aetna, Humana or if you don't have insurance, it is only $72 per screening PSA (prostate specific antigen blood test), DRE (digital rectal exam), Testicular Exam and Physician Consultation).

Appointments are required, call 480-964-3013 or 1-800-828-6139.

Who should participate?

All men 40 years of age or older should have an annual screening.

Men with a family history of prostate cancer and African-American men should have a DRE and PSA test annually starting at age 35.

According to cancer experts: Prostate cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in men, and the second leading cause of cancer death, behind lung cancer. The five-year survival rate for patients whose cancer is caught while still confined in the prostate is nearly 100 percent, while the five-year survival rate for those men diagnosed with advanced cancer is only 34 percent.
