Willcox Ag Day
On Feb. 3, 2010, the Cochise County Farm Service Agency Office participated in the Willcox Ag Day. Being that Willcox is an agricultural community, we asked for donations from farmers, ranchers and agricultural businesses to donate items derived from their businesses that would promote and advertise their farms, ranches and businesses. We prepared seven FSA buckets with donated items from all over Cochise County. Throughout the day, we held drawings for the buckets. It was a huge success!
We would like to thank the following businesses and producers for donating items for the drawings: Apple Annie's, Bonita Bean, Bonita Grain, Cochise Groves, Coronado Vineyard, Curry Seed & Chili Co., Ft. Bowie Vineyards, Maid Rite Feeds, Willcox Packing Plant, Willcox Cowbelles, Giselle Billadeaux, Willcox Farm Supply, Fisher Nursery, Lynne Ray-Doubtful Canyon Lavender Co., Winchester Grain Co., Crop Circle Winery, Freedom Ford, Central Implement, Briggs & Eggers Orchard, Eurofresh, Cook Pistachios, Willcox Commercial, Bar M Bar Cattle Co., Friends of the Library, Terry Brothers Farms, and Kansas Settlement Gin.
Thanks to each and every one that donated items. We hope to continue our bucket give-a-ways at future Ag Days to come.
Ag Day gives us a time to reflect on the true meaning of agriculture and its effect on our community. We sometimes tend to forget the positive impact the industry has on all of us to provide us with the necessary food and fiber our bodies need to sustain life. Remembering to support agriculture is the priority of this community.
