Arizona Horse Bill

Published: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 1:46 PM CST
Rex Allen Jr. saddles up to support the Colonial Spanish Horse as the State Horse of Arizona now in the State Legislature in House Bill 2634.

Rex said, "When it comes to the settlement of the Great American West, there is no animal more important than the Horse. Without the Horse the settlement of Arizona could not have happened.

"As a descendent of The First Families of Arizona, I know firsthand how important the Horse was to my family. The Horse not only was their transportation, the horse provided a way for them to make a living in the cattle business around Willcox.

"Arizona has a State Song, A State Flower as well as a State Bird. It is time that Arizona honored the Horse. The Colonial Spanish Horse is the perfect choice. It was the breed that settled the very beginnings of Arizona."

Rex Allen Jr. is a successful singer, song writer and television personality. Rex wrote "Arizona", the state song of Arizona. The Arizona Colonial Spanish Horse Project is honored to have the support of Rex Allen Jr.
