Have you ever imagined what the Willcox area would have been like 20,000 years ago, when The Playa was a huge lake and incredible creatures roamed its shores and nearby plains and hills?

Floyd Pierce takes you there in A STEP BACK, an intriguing, spine-tingling adventure novel.

Daryl Cinch and his horse didn't return from a hunting trip. His devastated wife and a huge search party failed to find him. It looks as though he's just vanished. And that's exactly what happened! Riding through a time window, he's thrust back into the prehistoric past, where huge, savage animals, unbelievable creatures and hostile human-like beings are a constant threat. Can Daryl get back to his own century alive?

Floyd researched and wrote A STEP BACK while he and his wife Rose lived near Willcox. Active in the Willcox Writer's Group, he also directed Benson's writer's group. His first book is titled The CORNERSTONE for which a sequel, CORNERSTONE RANCH, is ready for publication. Floyd also partnered with Bea Carlton, his brother-in-law, and Ruth Burton in writing WHERE'S JESSIE?

A copy of A STEP BACK is in the Willcox Library for loan. Or your own copy may be ordered from Bea Carlton at 520-384-9232.
