State honors for Hicks

Shane Hicks of the Willcox High School Cowboy Basketball varsity (Dave Brown/ARN)

All-State tournament honors were awarded to junior swingman Shane Hicks of the WHS Cowboy Basketball varsity, coach Ted Dunlap announced recently. Hicks scored in double figures for all three tournament games on Feb. 16 and 19-20. He helped lead Willcox to an unexpected quarter-final appearance at state as the Cowboys were one of only three public schools in the final eight.
