Published: Wednesday, March 3, 2010 1:36 PM CST
On Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at approximately 11:30 am, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office was advised of a dead body in Jackwood Canyon near Apache Arizona. Upon Deputies arrival, they made contact with a rancher in the area who advised that he had located the body in a remote area of his property and a four wheel drive was necessary to reach the location.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue was requested to assist and the team also responded to the area. Search and Rescue personnel were led to the body at approximately 3:15 pm where the scene was processed prior to it being moved. The male subject was fully clothed in jeans, a ribbed tank top undershirt, a button up shirt, and a black jacket. A wallet was located in the front pocket of the jeans which included a photo identification card reportedly being the subject, and identifying him as a 27 year old from Michoac‡n Mexico.

The Cochise County Medical Examiners Office will complete an autopsy to determine cause and date of death and the Mexican Consulate was notified in an attempt to locate any next of kin. There is no foul play suspected at this time, and the investigation is being continued by the Sheriff's office and more information will be released when it becomes available.

" The blood of every Mexican who dies while illegally crossing our borders is on the hands of the Mexican government. Rather than protecting their citizens they encourage them to illegally enter our country and further enable them once they get here.

It is time we start billing Mexico for any and all fees incurred relating to illegal aliens, including education, health care, deportation, etc.l and imposing additional fees for multiple offenders detained here in this country. "
