Arizona Town Hall tackles state finances
Seeks public input at March 4 meeting
Arizona Town Hall will present a community program in Sierra Vista on March 4, 2010 at 7:30 a.m. to discuss the 95th Arizona Town Hall's recommendations for solving Arizona's current and future revenue issues. The interactive program will seek public input on addressing Arizona's budget and government revenue systems.
The breakfast program will be held at Cochise College, Andrea Cracchiolo Library, room 900, 901 N. Columbo Ave., Sierra Vista The cost is $15. While reservations are required, there is no charge for those who do not wish to have breakfast.
President of Cochise College, J.D. Rottweiler, will host the program which will present major recommendations that came from Arizona Town Hall's November 2009 meeting of statewide community leaders.
Presenters include Pat Call, Chairman of Cochise County Board of Supervisors; Molly Costelazo, Principal of Costelazo Marketing, Ltd.; Judy Gignac, Independent Consultant and Chair of University Medical Center Board; Tara Jackson, President of Arizona Town Hall; Lanny Kope, AARP Executive Council and Trustee of Sierra Vista Regional Health Center; and Bob Shepard, Executive Director at Sierra Vista Economic Development Foundation.
The program will include a public discussion of the Town Hall recommendations and proposed action. To reserve a seat, call the Arizona Town Hall at 602-252-9600 or register online at www.aztownhall.org. Seating is limited and by reservation only.
ASU, under the leadership of Tom Rex and Dennis Hoffman, and with input from various independent experts who served on the Town Hall's Research Committee, prepared a detailed background report to prepare participants for substantive discussions and consensus-based policy recommendations. The background report as well as the report of recommendations is available for download from the Arizona Town Hall website, www.aztownhall.org. A summary of the background report and the recommendations of the Town Hall will be provided to all program participants.
