Trinity Lutheran Church Lent and Easter Week services
Trinity Lutheran Church, 111 North Bisbee Ave., invites you to join us in the preparation for the celebration of Easter.
The season of Lent brings a lengthening of days as winter turns to spring. As nature bursts forth with new life we celebrate our spiritual birth through the death and resurrection of Christ. The Season of Lent that leads to Easter is a deeply spiritual season in the church. For forty days, beginning with Ash Wednesday, we journey with our Lord to the cross. This is a period of reflection and prayer, discipline and growth. We invite you to join us as we meet each Wednesday evening.
The schedule begins Feb. 24 and continues each Wednesday until Holy Week, as follows:
6 p.m. - supper of homemade soup and bread (There is no charge for supper.)
6:45 - 7:30 p.m. - worship service of music and meditation using the Holden Vesper service
7:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Bible Study to discover our spiritual gifts as people of God.
Holy Week and Easter Schedule (March 28 through April 4):
Sunday of Palms and Passion worship at 9:30 a.m. on March 28.
Seder Meal at 6 p.m. on April 1. The Seder meal remembers God's instructions to the Jewish people as the angel of death passed over those who obeyed his instructions in Egypt. Jesus was in Jerusalem celebrating Passover when he instituted the Lord's Supper (Reservations are helpful so that we know the number to prepare for. Call Trinity at 520-384-2155.)
Good Friday Service at Noon on April 2. The church will be open after the service until 3:00 P.M. for personal prayer.
Easter Breakfast at 8 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4.
Easter Celebration Service at 9:30 a.m.
We welcome you to share fellowship, food and worship with us on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings beginning Feb. 24, through Holy Week and Easter Sunday. We pray that our Lenten journey leads us to give up some of our worldly concerns and put on prayer, fasting and benevolence to those in need. We pray that we all find added strength, insight and faith during this time.
