Rabies Clinic Scheduled in Benson
Cochise County has seen a dramatic increase in rabid animals over the past year, all of which have been in wild animals. The State of Arizona requires all dogs over three months of age to be vaccinated against the Rabies Virus by a State Licensed Veterinarian.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office would like to announce that All Creatures Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Nancy Leverenz, will be holding a rabies clinic on Saturday February 20, 2010 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Benson Animal Shelter located at 655 East 4th Street in Benson The cost of the vaccination is $20.00 payable by cash, check, or credit card.
All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in carriers. No other vaccine will be given (Only the Rabies Vaccines).
These clinics are held to help with the rising cost of living, to protect your pet, and to assist you in complying with the State of Arizona Statutes. With newly enacted legislation regarding Animal Shelters and fees charged to pet owners who have had their animal picked up, it is financially critical that your pet is vaccinated and you have a current dog license. The new fees to be charged for animals not vaccinated or licensed have increased substantially for the first impound.
Cochise County Animal Control Officers will also be available to sell county dog licenses at a cost of $5.00 for altered animals, and $10.00 for un-altered animals. All city residents will be required to purchase their animal license through their city of residence. All county dog licenses' are valid for one year. Please get your animals vaccinated.
