VISION SCREENING: Members of the Cochise Stronghold Lions Club will provide vision screening for home school students on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Sunsites Community Center from noon until 3 p.m. There is no charge for this community service.
Other up-coming Lions events include and all you can eat breakfast for $5 at Sunsites Community Center from 8 until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6.
DRAGOON
CELEBRATION OF CULTURE: The Amerind Foundation Museum will hold the Celebration of Yaqui Culture in conjunction with the Yoeme (Yaqui) Artists' Association on Saturday, Feb.6, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This event features presentations, demonstrations, ceremonial performances, Yaqui arts and crafts and aperformance by Yaqui classical guitarist, Gabriel Ayala. Amerind is located one mile off I-10 on Dragoon Road, 520-586-3666 or go to www.amerind.org.
BENSON
ART SHOW: The San Pedro River Arts Council is sponsoring a new art show at the City Hall Gallery in Benson. It is the work of Ron Fritts and his students at Cochise College, called "Fritts and Friends." There is no theme for the show, and there are framed works in oils and acrylics, all hung on the new permanent hanging system that the City has purchased to support the Arts. This show will be up for a few weeks when it will be replaced by the teen competition for 'March is Arts Month'. The Gallery is open whenever there are meetings and during the second and fourth Tuesday evenings for City Council activity. The public is welcome to visit during those hours, and by appointment by calling Danna Judd, deputy City Clerk at 520-720-6331, x2031.
