Adele Crouch (Creations by Crouch L.L.C.) is a self-taught artist, working in acrylics, oils, colored pencils, graphite and charcoal. She has been selling her work for more than 40 years. During the last 30 years, Adele has sold and displayed her work in galleries and other businesses in northern and southern California, Washington, Idaho, Tennessee, Arkansas, New Mexico and Arizona.
Her interest in art was inspired by a history lesson, which featured Michelangelo when she was nine years old. Three of Adele's relatives, her grandfather and two aunts, were artists. This helped in giving her incentive to study and enhance her abilities in the field. She is currently a student at Cochise College pursuing a degree in Humanities and a minor in Art History. The fall semester, 2008, she took her first courses in art. These two courses, Fundamentals of Design and Design & Color, are the beginning of Adele's formal training.
Adele has received numerous ribbons and awards for her work. In the Cochise County Fair, 2009, she placed with all five entries, in 2008 with all seven entries and in 1997 with all five entries. One of her favorites pieces, "The Message", placed at the San Pedro Valley Arts and Historical Society Annual July 4th Show in 1998. This painting is available as a Limited Edition, Signed and Numbered Print.
Adele is also a published author. "Catherine's Travels" was released in 2001 and "How The Fox Got His Color", a children's book, is currently with the publisher. It should be released by the end of 2009 or the first part of 2010.
Adele and her husband, Doug, have traveled across nearly all of the Continental U.S. states, photographed landscapes and ruins, and visited with people from all walks of life. Many of Adele's paintings are based on these experiences. All originals are "one of a kind" pieces and a lot of them are painted from photographs of actual places and other inspiring objects.
