Register, help with Toys for Tots
The Willcox Department of Public Safety will host Willcox Toys 4 Tots campaign. Make a Christmas wish come true for the less fortunate children of Willcox. Donate an unwrapped toy or give a monetary donation. Monetary donations may be dropped off or mailed to the Willcox Department of Public Safety, Attention Officer Mel Hammons or Officer Richard Majewski, 320 W. Rex Allen Drive, Willcox, AZ 85643.
Toy donations will be collected at various business locations in Willcox, in addition to the Willcox Department of Public Safety on Rex Allen Drive and the City Hall building at 101 S. Railroad Ave.
Toys 4 Tots applications for children ages 1 to 12 years can be picked up at the Willcox Department of Public Safety and must be returned by December 15.

Salvation Army bell ringers needed
The Willcox Salvation Army is asking for bell ringer volunteers to assist with holiday kettle collections.
Our local Willcox chapter of the Salvation Army is self-funded through donations provided from individuals, and business within our community.
To volunteer for the Salvation Army, please contact Penney Bell at 520-766-4231.
Christmas boxes from Food Pantry
For Christmas Boxes from Willcox Community Food Pantry, please go to DES and get your referral. Boxes will be given out Wednesday, Dec. 16 through Friday, Dec. 18.
Also, we are appealing to the community for food and donations. This is very important to our success in taking care of this need. Thank you for caring.
Candlelight Memorial Dec. 13
On Sunday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m., Westlawn Chapel will host a Candlelight Memorial Ceremony to honor the memory of loved ones and friends. We invite you and your family to attend this special event.
While the holidays may seem difficult to face this year, let us create a new tradition for you and your family. You are welcome to bring guests.
Holiday support group Dec. 17
Hospice wants to invite you to attend our Holiday Support Group. For those who have lost a loved one, it can be a particularly difficult time when surrounded by messages to be merry and joyful. The Holiday Grief Support Group is free of charge.
We will share ideas on surviving the holidays and continuing your healing. All those who have lost a loved one (not just those who have used Hospice) are welcome. Come join us in remembering and honoring those dear to us.
When and where: Thursday, Dec. 17, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Charles W. Leighton, Jr. Hospice Office, 524 W. Maley Place in Willcox.
You do not need to call to attend the Holiday Support Group.
Christmas Tea with Cochise Lions
Upcoming Cochise Stronghold Lions events include a Saturday pancake and waffles breakfast for $5 on Dec. 12 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Sunsites Community Center. On Sunday, Dec. 13 is the traditional Christmas Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. The tea is not a ladies-only event, so we invite everyone to join us for holiday goodies, beverages and entertainment for $5 per person.
Calling all angels to NCNH
Christmas is near and at Northern Cochise Nursing Home, many of our residents have no family near, so our staff and our community become their family.
An "Angel Board" is hung in the nursing home. Please come in and pick an angel. On the back of each angel is the information you will need to choose or make a gift (i.e. male, female, size etc.).
Christmas on Main St. art show
The San Pedro River Arts Council will be hosting an art show entitled "Art is Ageless," in conjunction with Christmas on Main St. in Benson. Primary, middle-schoolers and home-schoolers, from kindergarten through 8th grade, have been invited, and we are looking for senior artists, and those young at heart to also display their work. There is no fee and no jury.
The show is for one day only, Dec. 12, and will be in the large building at 500 Highway 80, on the corner of 7th St. in Benson. There will be live music, food and drinks, and we will have people who love kids to help them with making Christmas decorations for our tree there.

NCCH Auxiliary cash drawing
Only one week left to get in on the 50/50 cash drawing chance at the Northern Cochise Community Hospital Gift Shop!
Tickets are $1/each or 6 for $5. Stop by the NCCH Gift Shop. Drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Rotary Holiday Lighting contest
Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative is sponsoring this year's Willcox Rotary Club Christmas Lighting Contest. The deadline for submitting an application is Thursday, Dec. 17. The judging will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19. There will be two categories - home and commercial. Cash prizes will be awarded. For more information and an application, contact any Rotarian. Applications are also available from Chuck Broeder at Cheery Cows Antiques and Collectibles, 365 N. Haskell Avenue.
WHS Christmas choral concert
The Willcox High School Choral Program presents, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11 at the high school auditorium.
The concert will feature the professional entertainment group, "The Kidmans." Tickets, which will be sold at the door, are $4 single and $16 for a family of five. Children age three and under are free. There will be Santa Claus, goodies, and great entertainment.
Living Nativity at Extended Hands
The Living Nativity, an indoor/outdoor passage through the birth of Jesus, will be presented Dec. 21 and 22. Both nights will be open from 6-8 p.m., you can visit anytime during those hours. Hosted by Extended Hands Ministries - 151 W. Wasson St. For more information, call 520-766 HELP.
There will be refreshments provided after your journey.
This is an experience to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Live animals will be on site.
