VFW Halloween Party
VFW Halloween Party will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at VFW Post 9977, 114 Ford St., in Sunsites. Music will be provided by Mary Carter and The Dragoon Mountain Boys. There will be costume prizes for first and second place winners. There will also be free pizza and snacks. Bar specials available.
WASA Trunk or Treat, Keiller Park
Help keep our local ghouls and goblins safe on Halloween. WASA is sponsoring a Trunk or Treat event at Keiller Park - in the area between the ball fields where the Rex Allen Days carnival was held this year, on Saturday, Oct. 31 Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
WASA will provide candy and arrange parking. Participants will be responsible for decorating their vehicle, handing out candy and running any type of activity you might choose to run. Please call 384-4777 to participate.
Haunted House at Elks Lodge Saturday
The WHS Senior Class will have a Haunted House at the Willcox Elks Lodge, 247 E. Stewart St., on Halloween, on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. until ???
Donation is $3 per person. All proceeds go toward the Senior Trip!
Trunk or Treat at Wynne Chapel
For a safe and fun Halloween, come to Wynne Chapel's Trunk or Treat Festival on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Trunk or treat is an alternative to traditional trick or treating where children will go from vehicle trunk to trunk, instead of house to house, to play games and receive treats!
Each trunk is decorated with a fun theme, an exciting game, or both so the kids are sure to have lots of fun while getting their treats. We will also have carnival games set up for the children to play.

Scholarship Fair at Willcox High
The Willox High School Scholarship Fair will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5-8 p.m. at the high school/middle school cafeteria.
Those organizations giving scholarships should bring their current application to be distributed. Seniors and juniors and their parents should not miss this informational event.
Harvest Festival at First Southern Baptist
Harvest Festival will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at First Southern Baptist Church, the corner of Cochise and Wasson streets.
Kick-off for harvest time at First Southern Baptist Church is the Oct.31 festival, held for the community of Willcox during trick or treat time to show how we can have a good time with lots of fun, games and food.
We can also show how we can help others through a harvest of giving, both in Willcox and around the world, with our missionaries to reach the world for Jesus Christ by bringing in our community kids, young and old, off the streets to have a great time with games, food and treats. Please join us; and, if you would like to help with the harvest, bring a can of food.
Saints Day Party at Sacred Heart
All Saints Day Party on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. All in the parish are invited and it is free. Come in dressed as a Saint to process in at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Potluck brunch will follow Mass in the parish hall at about 10:30 a.m. Games, wonderful prizes, and candy will be given out.
Revival Services at Victory Baptist
Revival services at the Victory Baptist Church of Willcox will be held on Monday and Tuesday evening, Nov. 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. The church will be hosting Dr. Clyde Gilman from Bella Vista Baptist Church of Albuquerque, N.M.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., our speaker will be Pastor Kevin Cowling from Valley Baptist Church in Mesa, Ariz.
Both of these preachers are being used of God through their great ministries and preaching with God's power.
The church is located on the corner of Grant and Bowie Ave. It would be our honor to have you visit us for any or all of these services.
Ladies' exercise begins Nov. 7
Exercise classes are starting for ladies at Faith Bible Church, at 190 N. Curtis Ave in Willcox! On Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 10:30 a.m. a beginner's exercise program will start at the church. All ladies are invited to participate in a slower paced stress-reduction exercise video. The class will run every Saturday for the month of November. If the class is met with enthusiasm and interest, we will look to continue it.
For all those who would like a gentle lift for your body and soul, we welcome you to join us. The video runs about 25 minutes. No nursery is available but we encourage young ones to attend with their mothers or grandmothers. Please call 384-2716 with any questions.
TEA Party in Willcox Nov. 7
Do you watch the direction that America is headed and feel powerless to stop it? Do you believe that your voice isn't loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore? Come to a T.E.A. Party and find that the truth is, we are all in this together and we have a voice!
Everyone is invited to a day of sharing and solutions. At 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, join us at the Best Western Plaza Inn Kiva Room, 1100 W. Rex Allen Dr., in Willcox. Snacks will be served and Old Time Fiddlers will entertain.
This will be a peaceful demonstration concerning today's major topics of healthcare reform and stimulus spending. State Rep. David Stevens will be in attendance and Sen. Manny Alvarez hopes to be in attendance, as his schedule will allow. We have received regrets from Rep. Pat Fleming, who has a previous engagement; but we are planning to have other area political leaders present.

Bowie Catholic Church Dinner
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Bowie is having a home-style sit-down dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Catholic Church Hall.
The cost is $7 per adult and $5 per child. The menu is BBQ beef, beans, rice, tortillas, choice of potato or macaroni salad, tortilla, punch or coffee, and choice of popover, pie, or cupcake for dessert. Sponsored by the Virgin de Guadalupe Church Renovation Committee.
WES to hold lunch for veterans
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Willcox Elementary School will host a free lunch for all U.S. military veterans in order to honor them on Veteran's Day.
The lunch will be from 11:15 a.m. to noon in the school cafeteria.
Please call the school's office at 384-4216 if you will be able to join us for lunch on that day.
The staff and students certainly hope to see you there!
Motorcycle Sunday at Wynne
Wynne Chapel will be sponsoring Motorcycle Sunday on Nov. 1. A representative from the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) will be the special speaker at both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. A cookout will follow with hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, drinks and more.
Support Red Ribbon Week
DRUG FREE IS THE KEY- That is the theme for the 2009 Red Ribbon Week which started October 23 and runs through Oct. 31. Red Ribbon Week is a national awareness campaign to emphasize the importance of not using drugs. WASA participates in this event each year to help remind our community of the importance of avoiding drugs.
Red Ribbon Week was started as a tribute to slain Drug Enforcement Agent Kiki Camareno, who was murdered in 1985. The mission of Red Ribbon Week is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a Drug Free America. Community support of this mission can deliver a strong and powerful message.
Ribbons, wristbands and other reminders will be given out by WASA and others committed to this cause throughout this week. Members of the community are invited to do their part by wearing these tokens proudly and talking to young people about the importance of remaining drug free.
