Premiums return to County Fair

Premiums are back this year! Last year's budget restrictions caused the Cochise County Fair to suspend payment of premiums to entrants who won ribbons in their category. This past week the Board of Directors received late funding that will allow us to reinstate the payment of premiums for this year. This is great news for folks who were considering entering this year but were reluctant to because there was no hope of winning money as well as ribbons. See the Cochise County Fair web page: HTTP://www.cochisefair.org/exhibitor.htm for details about premiums for each category.

The Fair runs from Sept. 24-27 at the Cochise County Fairgrounds, 3677 N. Leslie Canyon Rd, Douglas.

The Fair is a celebration of community, designed for lots of family fun, entertainment and relaxation. There will be 4H/FFA project exhibits, livestock judging and sale, food concessions, carnival, collegiate rodeo, retail booths, arts and crafts and lots of live entertainment.

The Hereford and White Water Draw National Resource Conservation Districts (NRCDs) invite all fair goers to visit their booth display on the stage area at the south end of the commercial building The booth will have conservation resource materials available, educational conservation demonstrations, and even some drawing for fun prizes.

Gates open at 10 a.m. each day.
