Bridge repairs

Published: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 2:17 PM CDT
The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a project on Aug. 24 to repair the US 70 Gila River Bridge in Bylas. On July 30 bridge inspectors found damaged structural elements on the bridge. ADOT subsequently reduced the speed limit to 45 miles per hour and the weight limit to 20 tons to prevent additional damage from occurring.

The contract requires the repairs to be completed by Sept. 17.
