Cochise College students winners
at Southeast Arizona Fine Art Show
Several art students at the Cochise College Willcox Center were winners in the Southeast Arizona Fine Art and Photography Show held recently at the Willcox Community Center.
Several students won ribbons in their categories, and two students, Beth McElroy and Debra Nelson, won Best of Intermediate II and Best of Novice, respectively.
The Art League of Willcox also awarded the Freddie Romero Scholarship to Amber Bowlby for photography and Kalen Gregory for art. The recipients will use the scholarships to pay for art classes at Cochise College.
Art and photography show winners from the Willcox Center were:
* First place - Heather Bennett, Amber Bowlby, Patricia Cole, Wayne Crane, Robert Cubley, Ingrid Curry, Becky Fortenberry, Joanna Hall, Sally van Haren, Betty Leithead, Beth McElroy, Debra Nelson, Sylvia Obert-Turner, and Candace Roll.
* Second place - Illinois Jones III, Toni King, Darlene Rodriguez, and Peggy Williams.
Next fall, the Willcox Center is offering Painting I and II, Painting for Personal Development, Digital Photography and Woodworking. Registration is going on through August. Classes start August 17. Contact the Willcox Center at (520) 384-4502 for more information.
