Suspicious device found in St. David
On Thursday, June 18, at about 5 a.m., the Cochise County Sheriff's Office was advised of a suspicious item that was is the driveway of a St. David School Administrator. The caller advised that there was a suspicious item smoking in his driveway and he needed a deputy to respond. The St. David Fire Department along with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office responded and closed the residential road pending the arrival of the Cochise County Bomb Technician.
The item was discovered to be an acid bomb that had already detonated. The St. David Fire Department diluted the acid bomb and the Bomb Technician disassembled it and removed it for disposal.
The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office and a number of leads are being followed. This action is a felony and is considered to be misconduct with a weapon.
