| Safford Odd Fellows and Rebekah's donated 31 bicycles, shown off by the food bank's Executive Director Rey Martinez Sr. and Office Manager K. Ellen Wilson, to be distributed by the Southeast Arizona Food Bank. The Safford Prison rebuilt 20 bicycles and 11 new bikes were donated from WalMart in Safford. Marvin Imel, Grand Secretary of Odd Fellows and Southeast Arizona Food Bank Board President, and Chuck Trammill, Noble Grand of the Odd Fellows, delivered them from Safford recently. There will be a drawing and Christmas party on Dec. 23, at the Southeast Arizona Food Bank at 10 a.m., 401 E. Maley St. The Food Bank is asking for any other toys or money donations. SEACAP back at Community Center
SouthEastern Arizona Community Action Program (SEACAP) is back in business at the Willcox Community Center, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you need information about when services will be provided, please call (520) 384-3120. 2nd Bowie Bizaar set for Nov. 1
Rural ACCENT in Bowie will host its second annual "Bizar, Bizarre" on Saturday, Nov. 1. We would like to encourage folks to set up and sell! Spaces are free, donations for spaces are welcome, but not required. The theme will be "A Day at the Beach."
Vendors and entrepreneurs can call for more information. Bike Week will be sponsored that week by the Bowie Chamber of Commerce, so we hope for a good turn out. Come join us! Call us for more information and to RSVP at 520-847-0847.
Dragoon Daze seeking vendors
The Sixth Annual Dragoon Daze, will be held Saturday, Nov. 1. Dragoon Daze is a community festival featuring food, entertainment and craft vendors from the surrounding area.
Live entertainment is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be western and bluegrass bands, western shootouts, guitar players, singers, dancing ladies, and a fashion show.
Admission and entertainment is free. Bratwurst, hot dogs, drinks, and other refreshments will be available.
To get to this historic and scenic area, take I-10 east of Benson, to exit 318, go easterly on Dragoon Road about three miles. Turn north on Johnson Road to 1871 North Johnson Road.
Vendor spaces are still available at $15 donation for early registration and payment or $20 at the gate. We also need one donated item for a raffle.

Free lunch at WES for veterans
Attention Veterans: There will be a free lunch on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Willcox Elementary School Cafeteria to honor veterans. Please make reservations by calling 384-4216.

Memorabilia from Sunsites wanted
Do you have photos, Horizon Corporation literature, maps, newspapers or other Sunsites memorabilia?
Community groups and volunteers are collaborating on a comprehensive history project that will include gathering information for a timeline and stories and photos for written and oral histories.
The Sunsites Memory Project will document the early days of the area including the Horizon Development, the years preceding Horizon and through the present days of Sunsites.

Community drive to benefit CPS
The Willcox 1st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is organizing a community drive to help fill the humanitarian needs of our local Willcox Child Protective Services.
Items needed to help CPS with the re-location of children in crisis will be collected beginning this week until about mid-October. These items will then be sorted, assembled and distributed to CPS to be used at their discretion.
Collection boxes for donations will be conveniently located around town at Safeway, Food City, Alco and Dollar General.
Items to be collected include diapers (any size), baby wipes, sample-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, comb and hair brushes, sample-size baby wash and shampoo, pocket-size Kleenex and travel-size hand wipes.
We would also welcome donations of fleece or flannel material (1 1/2 yards 45" wide or 1 yard 60" wide) for making blankets for the children, who can range in age from newborn up to age 18. To all who sew or have sewn in the past, please check your cupboards and see what you have to donate.

Sunsites-Pearce Fire Fighters picnic
The Sunsites-Pearce Fire Fighter's Annual Picnic will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Sunsite-Pearce Fire Department, 105 Tracy Road, in Pearce.
Free food, games, contests, prizes, vendors, a jumping castle, and fun and entertainment for everyone.
