SAN PEDRO VALLEY YOUTH - Community Service project: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sponsoring a service project for all area youth between the ages of 14 -18, on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Meet at the Willcox Rodeo Grounds, and wear painting-work clothes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. If you have any questions please call Don Gibson at 520-720-2634 or Sheila Mayberry at 520-720-4223.
THE PRESTIGIOUS TITLE of queen is still available!
We are accepting final applications from young women to compete for the title of Rex Allen Days Rodeo Queen of 2008. The entry deadline of Sept. 20 is fast approaching.
If you are between the ages of 16-22, live in Cochise County, have never been married, know how to ride, and are interested in representing your community during Rex Allen Days through 2009, contact Queen Chairman, Linda Tunks at 520-256-1571. Rex Allen Days will be held Oct. 2-5.
ELOY, ARIZ. resident, Alex Alongi has been named chairman of Arizona's newly formed, "Copper States Truck And Tractor Pulling Association." The new association has members in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Rex Allen Days, in Willcox, will be the first event of the newly formed organized association (formerly Willcox Tractor Pulling Club) on Oct. 3-4. Willcox has hosted two or more successful tractor pulls each year for the last four years. This year, tractors and pickups from Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico and all areas of Arizona are expected to participate.
On Friday and Saturday of Rex Allen Days, participants will be pulling antique tractors, modified tractors, mini rods, street stock pickups and Jeeps -- 2x4s and 4x4s. There are shaded bleachers for spectators and lots of parking. Craft and food vendors will be on site for your enjoyment. Come join the fun and bring your pulling vehicle and watch truck and tractor pulling at it's best.
