Mobile vet, ARK, to offer low-cost vaccine, spay/neuter services
A new business, ARK (Animal Rural Klinic) began operations on July 26 in Willcox. ARK is a mobile veterinary service that offers spay/neuter and vaccination services in Cochise County. It was founded based on the need to provide low-cost veterinary services to all parts of Cochise County, including those areas where services are not readily available.
Typically, the van will locate in a community for two days, usually Thursday and Friday and will serve approximately 20 animals per day. ARK has recently served in Willcox, Douglas and Tombstone and has performed at capacity.
There will be a clinic in Willcox on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 4-5, at the Humane shelter on Stewart Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Vaccinations are $10 each for rabies and parvo virus, and an examination is included.
Future clinics are being scheduled throughout the county and will be announced in local papers and by flyers.
ARK is staffed with one veterinarian, Pamela Brambert, DVM, of Vail, and two veterinary technicians, Heidi Tipling and Janneke Rodenberg, both of Willcox.
For more information, call 520-730-3001, or call the Cochise County Humane Society at 520-803-7385 for financial assistance with spay/neuter services.
