Cochise Elementary School held a Showcase of Bookmaking last month. Funded by an Arizona Commission on the Arts Artist-in-Residence grant, Cochise Elementary School was provided with guest arts tutor, Susan Corl.
The two weeks prior to the showcase were busy working days for elementary and junior high students with Susan Corl helping the students create various books. They were later held for the public's eyes to see.
Of course, what's a Showcase without a few added activities? Students and parents were all testing their origami skills with the help of Mr. Stephen Webb. With added helping hands of the sixth through eighth grade, all of the children had their folded papers flying around the gymnasium. As the event slowly came to an end, everyone had cheerful smiles from another social gathering well done by the Cochise Elementary School.
