Willcox Police

Thurs, Jan. 10

2:10 a.m. - Police responded to a travel center for a report of a person acting very strange. A 45-year-old male of Bean Station, Tenn. was arrested and booked into jail on charges of D.U.I. drugs.

8:09 a.m. - Police responded to the 100 block of W. Maley for a report of an electrical pole hit by a vehicle. SSVEC was called out to repair the damaged pole.

2:03 p.m. - Police responded to the 700 block of N. Arizona to take a report of criminal damage done to the walls of the complex by graffiti.


3:37 p.m. - Police arrested, cited, and released a 29-year-old male of Willcox on an outstanding warrant out of the Willcox Magistrate Court.

6:35 p.m. - Police responded to the 100 block of N. Haskell for a report of a male subject violating a court order. A 54-year-old male of Willcox was arrested and booked into jail on charges of violation of a court order.

11:48 p.m. - Police arrested, cited, and released a 39-year-old male of Pearce on charges of criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fri., Jan. 11

12:48 a.m. - Police took custody of a wanted person from Border Patrol. A 24-year-old male of Texas was arrested and booked into jail on an outstanding felony warrant out of Texas.

12:50 a.m. - Police responded to the 300 block of S. Cochise for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. The subjects involved were separated for the night. No charges were pressed at this time.

1:12 a.m. - Police arrested, cited, and released an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both of Muleshoe, Texas, at a motel on charges of minors in possession of liquor and shoplifting.

2:15 p.m. - Police arrested a 20-year-old male of Willcox on an outstanding warrant out of the Willcox Magistrate Court for failure to comply to a court order. He was booked into jail.

5:49 p.m. - Police responded to a grocery store for a report of a vehicle that had been broken into and several items were taken. A report was taken.

8:58 p.m. - Police made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Ft. Grant Rd. The driver, a 22-year-old male of Willcox, was arrested, cited and released on charges of driving on a suspended license.

Sat, Jan. 12

1:52 a.m. - Police responded to the 700 block of N. Arizona for a report of an accident. A vehicle was found abandoned after it had hit the brick sign in front of the complex. A report was taken.

Sat., Jan. 12

5:48 p.m. - Police and Willcox E.M.S. responded to Ft. Grant and Old Stewart for a one-vehicle rollover with one person ejected from the vehicle. The patient was flown to a Tucson Hospital for treatment.

6:44 p.m. - Police responded to the 200 block of N. Bowie to take a report of threats being made. A report was taken.

8:09 p.m. - Police responded to the 300 block of N. Austin for a report of a possible suicidal person. It turned out to be a false alarm.

8:51 p.m. - Police responded to the 400 block of W. Maley for a report of an illegal burn. The fire was extinguished by the residence.

11:08 p.m. - Police responded to a fight in progress at a cafe. Two male subjects were arrested. A 20-year-old male of Willcox was charged with assault, minor in possession of liquor, open container, two counts of disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, harassment, criminal damage and criminal littering. A 23-year-old male of Willcox was arrested on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, criminal damage and criminal littering. Both were booked into jail.

Sun., Jan. 13

6:58 a.m. - Police made a traffic stop at Rex Allen and Mesa. The driver did not have a valid license and the nine U.D.A. passengers were all turned over to Border Patrol.

11:36 a.m. - Police responded to a cafe on N. Haskell for a report of a theft of property. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.

3:09 p.m. - Police responded to the 400 block of S. Biddle for a domestic dispute. A 22-year-old male of Willcox was arrested, cited and released on charges of domestic violence, assault, criminal damage, and two counts of disorderly conduct. A 17-year-old female was arrested and transported to Sierra Vista Juvenile Detention Center on charges of assault, domestic violence, criminal damage, two counts of disorderly conduct and threatening.

6:47 p.m. - Police responded to the 200 block of W. Lewis for a report of a domestic dispute. A 68-year-old male of Tucson was arrested, cited and released on charges of domestic violence and disorderly conduct.

Mon., Jan. 14

12:22 a.m. - Police made a traffic stop at Ft. Grant and Joe Hines Rd. The driver, a 40-year-old female of Tucson, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of D.U.I. and on an outstanding warrant out of Globe Police Department for failure to comply to a court order.

7:29 a.m. - Police responded to Willcox High School to take a report of criminal damage done to the building windows in the O.C.S. classroom. Also a window had been broken out of the Morenci School Bus. A report was taken.

8:23 a.m. - Police responded to the 200 block of N. Bisbee to take a report of criminal damage done to an apartment. A report was filed.

Tues., Jan. 15

12:04 p.m. - Police took a report of fraud by the use of a credit card illegally.

4:22 p.m. - Police arrested a 22-year-old male of Willcox on charges of possession of marijuana and on an outstanding warrant out of the Willcox Magistrate Court for failure to appear. He was booked into jail.

5:08 p.m. - Police and Willcox Fire responded to a truck plaza for a report of a fire in a vehicle. The fire was extinguished.

6:42 p.m. - Police took a report of an assault that occurred at the 800 block of W. Hoch. A 19-year-old female of Willcox was arrested and booked into jail on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

10:09 p.m. - Police responded to the Willcox High School to take a report of a theft of a radio from a vehicle.

1:36 p.m. - Police responded to the 100 block of S. Haskell for a report of a non-injury accident. A report was taken.

6:35 p.m. - Police arrested a 52-year-old male of Willcox on an outstanding warrant out of Safford Police Department for failure to appear on drug-related charges. He was booked into jail.

Fri., Jan. 18

12:31 a.m. - Police arrested a 28-year-old male of Cochise on an outstanding warrant out of the Willcox Magistrate Court for failure to pay fines. He was booked into jail.

11:06 p.m. - Police took a report of a burglary at the 100 block of S. Cochise. A report was taken.

2:02 p.m. - Police responded to the 500 block of N. Biddle for a report of a female that was trespassing in the residence. A 45-year-old female of San Francisco, Calif. was arrested and booked into jail on charges of criminal trespassing.

4:25 p.m. - Police responded to Railroad and Maley for a non-injury accident. A report was taken.

6 p.m. - Police and a D.P.S. Officer were attempting to locate persons that had left a restaurant without paying for their meal. The subjects were located on I-10 by D.P.S. and they did return and pay the bill. No charges were pressed.

9:56 p.m. - Police made a traffic stop at a gas station on Rex Allen Drive. The driver, a 25-year-old male of Willcox, was arrested, cited and released on charges of driving on a suspended license.

Wed., Jan. 16

10:20 p.m. - A Willcox woman advised that she can hear something outside of her laundry room and possibly on the roof. The caller advised that she has a broken ankle and cannot get out of bed.

Thurs., Jan. 17

3:02 p.m. - Received report of a sexual offense at the 1500 block of N. Lariat Dr.

7:01 p.m. - An unknown caller requested a welfare check on a female subject.

7:07 p.m. - A Willcox man reported that his mother is angry with him and has thrown a phone at him.

8:48 p.m. - A Willcox man reported that his mother is at the 200 block of W. Stewart St. showing the property, which belongs to him. The caller also advised that it appears someone is possibly cooking meth. The caller has requested contact with a deputy.

9:28 p.m. - A Willcox woman reported that she's having problems with her fiance having people over that are doing drugs.

Fri., Jan. 18

9:18 a.m. - A Kansas Settlement woman reported a verbal domestic dispute involving her and her son. The caller is upset with the fact she woke up and found three of her son's friends at the house. The caller kicked them out and the dispute escalated from there.

9:32 a.m. - An unknown caller requested contact with a deputy to make arrangements to have her dog picked up.

4:12 p.m. - An unknown caller advised of an alarm activation. Another call came in at 4:16 p.m. from the alarm company and the caller advised to cancel dispatch.

Sat., Jan 19

8:23 a.m. - Sundown Security advised of an alarm activation at a residence. There is a male on the scene but the call was dropped before code information could be obtained. The phone was busy on three subsequent call backs.

12:37 p.m. - An unknown caller wants to know what to do about an ex-boyfriend who is harassing her. There is an Order of Protection against the ex-boyfriend.

1:50 p.m. - A Tucson resident reported that he was in the area on Thursday and since firearms are not allowed on the property he decided to stash the gun in the bushes. When he came back for the gun, it wasn't there.

5:53 p.m. - A Bowie resident advised that his son was shot in the leg.

5:56 p.m. - An unknown caller stated that her uncle was hit with a shovel and there is blood all over the place. The caller also stated that the male subjects stole her uncle's truck. The victim stated that he was assaulted by two male subjects.

Sun., Jan 20

9:07 p.m. - A Bowie resident reported an assault with a knife. The caller requested contact with a deputy.

10 p.m. - Border Patrol advised they are behind a white van doing approximately 80 mph with no lights. The subjects are traveling westbound on Airport Rd.

U.S. Border Patrol

A total of 145 apprehensions occurred during the week of Oct.29-Nov. 4, compared with 195 the previous week. This was a decrease of 26 percent.

Three vehicles containing illegal immigrants were confiscated this week by Willcox agents. The vehicles were processed for forfeiture proceedings; no stolen vehicles were recovered, agents said.

Willcox agents prosecuted 15 persons during this reporting period: none for alien smuggling; four for entry without inspection; 11 for entry without inspection with expedited removal; none for re-entry of removed alien; and none for possession of narcotics.

All persons arrested during this period claimed to be from Mexico.

There were two narcotics seizures for this period. On Oct. 29, agents encountered a subject in Benson with about 5 grams of marijuana wrapped in plastic, which was revealed by a canine. Benson PD took possession of the marijuana and the subject. On Nov. 2, an agent discovered a brick of marijuana in the Willcox area, weighing about 1.84 pounds, turned over to DEA.

From Oct. 1, 2006, the beginning of the federal fiscal year, Willcox-based agents have apprehended a total of 971 illegal immigrants and seized 222.6 pounds of marijuana, with a value of $177,758.60; and 35 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $1,270.40.
