Deadline for two new Cochise College scholarships Dec. 3
The Cochise College Foundation is now accepting applications for two new scholarships.
The Deanna Sims Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of former Sonoita resident and Cochise College English instructor Deanna Sims, will award $500 to one qualifying student for the spring 2008 semester. To qualify, an applicant must be a high school graduate or must have earned a GED. Applicants also must have a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled full time at Cochise College, and demonstrate financial need per the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Applications also are being accepted for the Arthur and Jeanne Milczarek Memorial Scholarship, which will provide two $500 awards for the spring semester. To qualify, an applicant must be a returning student who has completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at Cochise College. Applicants also must have a 3.5 GPA, be enrolled full time at Cochise College or transferring from Cochise College to a four-year college or university, and submit an essay describing how the applicant intends to use their education to contribute to the well-being of mankind and the environment.
