City police are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a rash of graffiti and criminal damage throughout Willcox.
As of Monday, one juvenile male has been arrested in the cases.
Detective Joe Ferguson said there have been two separate waves of graffiti in town, beginning the early part of January.
The first involved spray-painting initials in several places in town, including residences, he said.
Initials included "TAT," "Mr. Piro," "ES9ST," and "Baby A," said Ferguson, adding that police believe the tagging was all done by the same person or people.
The latest rash as of Friday, which includes initials such as "JSM" and "WCL," has been done at the community center, city parks, and private residences, he said.
The graffiti has resulted in "several thousand dollars in damage," said Ferguson, adding that a couple of cars have been tagged as well.
Though Willcox police believe it is "probably not gang related," they have contacted the Gang Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GITEM), to run checks on the graffiti, he said.
"We have some leads, but anything now will help," Ferguson told the Range News.
Anyone with information regarding the graffiti should contact Det. Ferguson at (520) 384-4673, and leave him a voicemail. If you see it happening, call the police immediately and tell the dispatcher, he said.
