New board, director to take reins of Willcox chamber

Just a week after Kathy Smith joins the Willcox Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture as executive director, the 2005 board of directors will become effective.

New officers will be selected by the directors at a Tuesday, Jan. 11, board meeting.

Board members for 2005 are Stacy Green, Valley TeleCom Group; Jim Graham, Cochise Groves LLC, Jack Blair, Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative; Gladys Olsen, Salsa Fiesta; Betty Peterson, Twin Lakes Golf Course; Susan Pater, University of Arizona Extension Office; Julie Hilton, Northern Cochise Community Hospital; Dawn Bruns, Elks Lodge 2131; Ted Dunlap, Dunlap Oil; Bill Nolan, Rex Allen Theater; and Fred Wolf, Sunstate Bank.

Ex-Officio members will be Gilbert Davidson, City of Willcox; Dr. Don Roberts, Willcox Public School; and Gail Martin, Mary Kay Cosmetics.


Outgoing board members are Jose Aguilera, Bank One; Allan Crockett; Kevin Davis, NAPA Auto and Mary Pencin, Pencin Veterinary Clinic.

Smith, selected by a committee in early November, stepped in as executive director on Monday, Jan. 3, replacing Pati Fickett, who resigned April 13. Fickett has been director since Dec. 3, 2001.
